What we process

Account: email, password hash, registration date, language.
Profile: name, gender, who you are looking for, date of birth, city and approximate location, photos, "about me", interests and profile answers.
Optional special-category data (religion, ethnicity, political views) — only with your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Activity: likes, profile views, favorites, messages, reports, blocks.
Technical data: IP address at registration and login, device and browser type — for security, spam prevention, the list of devices where you are signed in and alerts about sign-ins from a new device.
Push notifications, if you turn them on: the notification address your browser's maker (Google, Apple, Mozilla or Microsoft) issued for it and the keys that encrypt the notifications, so the delivery service cannot read them. Signing out on that device, turning notifications off or deleting the account removes this data.
Voice messages, if you send them: the recording, its length and its waveform. Only you and the person you sent it to can play it, and a moderator if it is reported. The microphone is used only while you record. Deleting your account deletes your recordings, also from other people's chats.

Why

Providing the service: showing profiles, finding people nearby, chat (performance of contract).
Safety: moderation, fighting scams and spam (legitimate interest).
Service emails: confirmation codes, security alerts (such as a sign-in from a new device) and the notifications you enabled — each notification email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
News and offers — only if you opted in.

Who sees your data

Other members see your profile: name, age, city, photos, description and interests. Your email, date of birth and exact location are never shown. Distance is rounded and can be hidden.

We use processors (hosting, email delivery) under data processing agreements. When data is transferred outside your country (for example, out of the EU/EEA or the UK), we rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. We do not sell or share data with ad networks.

Retention

While your account is active. If you do not use your account for a long time, we may hide your profile from other members until you log in again, and we may delete the account after warning you by email in advance — simply logging in keeps it. After deletion your personal data is erased; messages you sent to others stay with them marked as "Deleted user". If you tell us why you are leaving, the answer is kept anonymously, without any link to you. Security logs are kept for up to 12 months. You can delete a message of yours for both people within 5 minutes of sending it: its text or recording is erased, unless it was reported or flagged as a possible scam, in which case the moderators keep it until they have finished reviewing it.

Your rights

Access and portability: download all your data in Settings → Your data.
Rectification: edit your profile at any time.
Erasure: Settings → Delete account.
Withdraw consent and object to processing.
Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority — for example, the supervisory authority of your EU/EEA country, the ICO in the UK, or the regulator where you live.

Residents of other regions

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising; your rights to access, correct and delete your data are described above.

Residents of other countries have the rights granted by their local data protection laws. Write to support@yadate.com and we will help.

Security

Passwords are stored only as strong hashes, connections are encrypted, and photos are re-encoded before publishing, removing metadata (including location).

Age

The service is for people aged 18 and over only. Profiles of minors are removed.
