Community guidelines

YADate is made by real people for real people. These simple rules keep it friendly and safe for everyone.

Do

  • Be yourself: use your real first name, your real age and photos of yourself.
  • Be respectful: treat people the way you would in person, even when you are not interested.
  • Write personal messages: read the profile and mention something you have in common — copy-pasted greetings rarely get replies.
  • Take your time: meet when you both feel ready, in a public place, and tell a friend where you are going.
  • Report problems: use Report on any profile, photo or message that breaks these rules — reports are confidential.
  • Be discreet: if you see someone you know, keep it to yourself — don’t share screenshots or spread rumours.

Don't

  • No fake, shared or business profiles, and no pretending to be someone else.
  • No insults, threats, harassment, hate speech or discrimination.
  • No asking for money, selling, advertising or spam.
  • No nudity or sexual content, and no photos of children without an adult in the frame.
  • No contact details or other people’s personal information in your profile.
  • Nothing illegal. We cooperate with the authorities when the law requires it.

Photo requirements

Photos are checked by our moderators. A good main photo gets far more replies, and a photo that breaks the rules is removed.

  • Your main photo clearly shows your face, and you are alone in it.
  • Only recent photos of you: no celebrities, cartoons, landscapes or pictures from the internet.
  • No nudity, underwear or sexual poses, no weapons or drugs.
  • No text, phone numbers, links or watermarks on photos.
  • Photos with friends are fine as extra photos, as long as it is clear which one is you.
  • Private photos are shown only to your matches, but the same rules apply to them.

If the rules are broken

Depending on how serious it is, we remove the content, limit some features or block the account. We tell you the reason, and you can write to support at support@yadate.com if you think we made a mistake.
